The Art of Risography: Advanced Risography Workshop
Explore Kuwait's first Risography Print Room for Artists!
This is a private workshop guided by designer Romain Danger (more info on his profile here).
If you are an artist and looking to explore a new unique printing technique, then this is the workshop for you!
The workshop is dedicated to mastering the Japanese risograph printing technique whereby you will learn how to:
*Prepare your file for printing by understanding the fundamentals of separating the colors in your artwork using illustrator.
*Practice printing your own artwork with up to 4 colors on 100% cotton 300GSM paper.
*You will also be taken on a tour around the studio and shown how the RISO printer works and have a look at sample art prints.
What is Risography?
The RISO printer was manufactured by the Riso Kagaku Corporation in 1980's Tokyo, Japan and designed mainly for high-volume photocopying and printing in offices. The power of the RISO printer is that it can print in high quantities in high quality at a low cost.
The RISO printer has recently experienced a resurgence with artists because of its ability to push the limits of artistic printing. The charm in a riso-printed artwork lies in its texture, retro look and intense, vibrant colors. The RISO is also an environmentally-friendly printer that uses soy-based ink.
Requirements:
All supplies are available in the studio.
Bringing your own laptop will be handy but optional.
You can bring a USB of your desired artworks for print or prepare the drawing in the studio.
